Vinyl is a women’s fashion brand that needed an e-commerce platform to reflect its bold aesthetic and contemporary style. The challenge was to build a visually rich online store that balanced editorial fashion storytelling with practical shopping flows. I designed and developed a platform that showcased Vinyl’s collections with large, striking imagery, minimalist layouts, and intuitive navigation. The site highlights the brand’s identity through clean typography, lifestyle photography, and mobile-first design, ensuring customers can browse and purchase effortlessly across devices.

CHALLENGE
Vinyl needed an e-commerce platform that could reflect its bold, contemporary identity while delivering a seamless shopping experience. The challenge was to merge high-fashion editorial storytelling with practical e-commerce flows, ensuring customers could both connect with the brand’s aesthetic and easily browse and purchase products across devices.
RESULTS & REFLECTION
The final e-commerce site successfully positioned Vinyl as a bold and modern fashion brand while providing customers with a seamless shopping journey. The combination of strong editorial visuals and intuitive shopping flows improved both brand perception and usability. Reflection on this project highlighted the effectiveness of balancing storytelling with functionality, demonstrating how design can elevate a fashion brand’s online presence.
THE PROCESS
Research & Analysis: Studied competitor fashion e-commerce sites to identify best practices in visual hierarchy, photography use, and checkout flows. Consulted with the Vinyl team to understand their vision of combining a bold aesthetic with user-friendly shopping.
Information Architecture: Planned a navigation flow centered on Collections → Product Pages → Cart → Checkout, with additional focus on About and Brand Story sections. Designed clear pathways to purchase without distracting from the visual storytelling.
Wireframing & Prototyping: Created wireframes that emphasized large, full-width imagery, minimalist layouts, and clean text blocks. Prototyped product pages with prominent visuals and straightforward CTAs, refining layouts to maintain balance between fashion-focused design and conversion goals.
Visual Design & Style Guide: Applied Vinyl’s bold visual identity through oversized typography, striking lifestyle photography, and a monochrome palette with accent colors. Prioritized mobile-first design to ensure smooth browsing and purchasing experiences on all devices.
